Seconda Università di Napoli

Seconda Università di napoli (SUN)

The Research Unit SUN (third party to UNINA) operates in the Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione of the Second University of Naples. The main research activities are in the fields of new sensors and actuators for robotic applications, modelling and control of flexible structures. The group was involved in a number of research projects. Some of the most recent projects supported by the EC include the large-scale integrating projects DEXMART and ECHORD. Within the SAPHARI project, SUN is involved in WP2 for the artificial skin and for the development of the sensors embedded in the VIA, and marginally in WP4, for the development of short range monitoring algorithms.

Université Paul Sabatier, Toulouse III

CNRS-LAAS is linked to the third party Université Paul Sabatier (UPS) in SAPHARI. UPS is one of the largest French universities. Each year several thousand young graduates emerge from it in the fields of science, technology, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, teaching or research. Since 1979, a cooperation agreement exists between CNRS-LAAS and UPS. Within that frame, UPS provides resources to the CNRS beneficiary, at its discretion and under its rules, on the basis of that prior agreement. Two Assistant Professors from UPS, who do their research activities for 50% of their working time at LAAS, are involved in SAPHARI: Jérémie GUIOCHET will contribute in the definition of risk analysis and safety monitoring methods in WP1; Daniel SIDOBRE, whose recent research focuses on manipulation and grasp planning and was recently involved as site leader in the FP7 DEXMART project, will contribute to planning human-aware collaborative motion and manipulation in WP7.
